What to expect on Your Downtown Food tour:
This isn't a cheap eats tour. We serve the best dishes at the best restaurants.
Most food tours are designed around a budget. Ours is designed around one question:
What's the dish that made us fall in love with this restaurant?
That's the dish we’re serving. You’ll enjoy a quarter rack of the most celebrated BBQ ribs in Nashville, shrimp and grits made from scratch at a locally owned landmark, and a course at a James Beard Semi-Finalist restaurant, hand-picked because it's what we order when we go there for lunch. Visit five to six stops over three hours, each one chosen because it's the best.
At $125 per person, yes, we're one of the most expensive food tours in Nashville. This tour is also rated #13 out of every culinary experience in the United States, holds a perfect 5.0 rating, and has 2,600+ five-star reviews from guests who came here and decided it was worth every dollar. In eight years, we've put more than $1,300,000 back into Nashville's locally owned restaurants. Every ticket you buy goes directly into our city.
You've come all the way to Nashville. We think you deserve to eat the best thing on the menu!
Come hungry! If you have a dinner reservation, go ahead and move it to 8pm - you won't need it any earlier.
Our Award Winning Downtown Nashville Food Tour Includes:
Think of this as three hours spent eating and exploring Nashville with a friend who just happens to know every great restaurant, every hidden story, and exactly which dish to order. Here's what that looks like:
The best BBQ ribs in Nashville - a full quarter rack, served at one of downtown's most beloved locally owned spots
Shrimp and grits made from scratch at an iconic Nashville restaurant - the kind of comfort food that reminds you why Southern cooking has a reputation
A James Beard Semi-Finalist serves a hand-picked dish because it's the one we order when we visit for lunch
A stop at a Nashville distillery - because this infused whiskey hits different, and its one that wins over even those that haven’t enjoyed it in the past. (fresh juice mocktail for non-alcohol ticket.)
Live music at a honky tonk - You’ll not just get live music, you’ll hear how the music industry works in downtown Nashville. This is the only food tour in Nashville with live music.
A local candy shop that serves family recipes passed down for over a century. It’s the kind of place tucked away in an alley that you'd never find without a local taking you there
A local guide who's been eating at these restaurants for years - someone who knows the owners, the kitchens, and the neighborhood by heart
Dietary Restrictions - Everyone is Welcome Here
We fully accommodate vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free diets, along with all food allergies - we take it very seriously.
Our owner Christine has celiac disease, so food restrictions aren't an afterthought on this tour, they're built into how we plan every single stop. Just let us know when you book and we'll take care of the rest. Your entire group will be included with no exceptions.

Tours sell out quickly, especially on weekends!
“This tour was outstanding! It was a great way to see Nashville on a personal level. Kren is a perfect guide, giving great information and answering every question in exquisite detail. The food selection was perfect, but the experience is so much more than a food tour. We wish we could have taken Kren with us during the rest of our Nashville visit. Can’t recommend her tour more enthusiastically!”
Downtown Nashville Food Tour FAQ’s
How much food will I eat on this food tour - will I need dinner after?
Our food tour is a full meal. You will be comfortably full by the time we wrap up, and we serve a lot of protein along the way.
If you have dinner plans, we recommend making the reservation for 8 PM or later, and choosing somewhere that won't break your heart if you can't eat much. Save your most anticipated dinner reservation for another night when you're arriving hungry.
What kinds of restaurants do you visit?
Every restaurant on our tour has to clear a few non-negotiables: locally owned, highly rated, all of their food must be made from scratch, and we love restaurants with a great story behind them. From there, we're looking for one thing: the best dish on their menu.
The dish we serve you is the one they're most famous for, or the one we love most. Each dish is chosen because it's exceptional, not because it fits within a price range. We want to show you the best local restaurants in downtown Nashville, and we don't cut corners on what we serve you.
How far do you walk, and how fast is the pace?
The tour covers just over a mile over the course of three hours, so the pace is genuinely relaxed. There's one small hill, and the longest single stretch between stops is about four city blocks.
If anyone in your group needs a slower pace or extra attention, we'll make that happen. Nobody gets left behind.
What happens if it rains?
We run rain or shine, and honestly, some of our most memorable tours have happened in the middle of a summer downpour. Eight years in, we've got plenty of smiling guests in ponchos to prove it.
That said, our tours run at lunchtime, and in Nashville, rain typically doesn't roll in until mid to late afternoon. More often than not, we finish well before any weather arrives.
Should I eat before the tour?
Arrive hungry. We'll start putting food in front of you within the first 10 minutes, and we're going to keep you well fed from there.
If you're an early riser who needs something to function, a light breakfast is fine. But if you can skip it, do. You'll want every bit of room for what's coming.
How early do I need to book?
For weekends and holidays, we recommend booking as early as possible. As one of the top-rated experiences in Nashville, our weekend tours do sell out - sometimes well in advance.
If you're visiting on a weekday you generally have a bit more flexibility, but we'd still encourage you to grab your spot rather than waiting and risking it.
How are serious food allergies handled?
We take dietary restrictions and food allergies very seriously, and this is personal for us. Our founder, Christine, has celiac disease, and she built this tour knowing that feeling excluded from a food experience is a real thing.
Every restaurant on our tour is experienced at accommodating dietary restrictions and understands the importance of avoiding cross-contamination. We want everyone at the table, no matter what. If you have a specific allergy or restriction, reach out before you book and we'll make sure you're taken care of. Everyone is welcome here.
What neighborhoods does the tour cover?
Our tour is rooted in the heart of downtown Nashville. More specifically, our food tours are designed around the three music districts downtown that make this city unlike anywhere else: Broadway, Second Avenue, and Printers Alley.
Along the way you'll hear the stories behind landmarks like the Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame. But we're not just giving you a greatest hits tour, we'll tell you how Nashville actually works, how the music industry shaped this city, and what it's really like to live here right now.
