As someone with a gluten allergy, and the founder of A Little Local Flavor Nashville food tours, I know what it feels like to show up for a group dining experience and wonder if there’ll be anything you can actually eat. I’ve been the one quietly picking around a dish, watching everyone else dig in. I’ve quietly cried in restaurants from frustration, hunger, and cross contamination, skipped dinners, and felt like an inconvenience more times than I can count.
That’s exactly why I created this tour.
From day one, my goal has been simple: everyone deserves to feel included. Especially those of us who are so often left out, whether it’s because of a food allergy, dietary restriction, or a choice not to drink. You shouldn’t have to miss out on an experience just because your needs are different.
We’re not an exclusively gluten-free tour (because we have to serve Nashville hot chicken), but when you let us know your needs in advance, we go out of our way to make sure you’re safe, satisfied, and included. We contact every restaurant ahead of time, confirm substitutions, and make sure you're served dishes that aren’t just safe, they're delicious. No side salads. No awkward moments.
Because great food isn’t just about what’s on the plate, it’s about how you feel when you’re at the table.
Our Gluten-Free Food Tour in Nashville: What to Expect
While we’re not an exclusively gluten-free tour, we’ve served hundreds of guests with Celiac Disease and gluten sensitivities over the years — and we also regularly accommodate vegetarian, dairy-free, nut-free, non-drinkers, and other dietary needs. Just let us know when you book, and we’ll handle the rest.
Here’s what happens behind the scenes:
Your dietary note is personally reviewed — by me.
We contact each stop in advance to confirm your substitutions.
Your tour guide double checks at each stop to make sure you're served the right dish.
We work with trusted restaurant partners who understand how important it is to treat your needs with care. And while we can’t guarantee certified gluten-free kitchens, we take cross-contamination precautions seriously and always communicate your needs clearly.
Because again: inclusion is everything.
Real Gluten-Free Dishes Served on Tour
Every stop we visit is locally owned and carefully chosen. Since I’m gluten free, most of the items we serve are already gluten free. If they are not, then the gluten free option that you are served is the exact item that I had as the owner. We rotate our stops so full selections vary, but here are just a few of the gluten-free dishes we've served recently:
The best BBQ ribs I’ve ever had (served with GF BBQ sauce)
Heirloom vegetable salads topped with mouth watering brisket all made with local ingredients
Gluten-free desserts on every tour that are the same delicious items as the rest of the group
Cocktails made with local spirits and fresh ingredients
We make sure that every guest gets a delicious, thoughtful, and safe experience. No second-tier substitutes. No awkward moments.
A Note from Me, the Owner
I’ve had a gluten allergy for years. I’ve been that person watching everyone else enjoy a beautiful dinner while I nibble on plain lettuce. I’ve shed tears in restaurants. I’ve skipped group outings because I didn’t want to deal with being the difficult one.
That’s why I built this company.
From day one, I wanted our food tours to be joyful, inclusive, and safe. I wanted people with allergies and restrictions to feel like they could be part of the fun, not an afterthought. That goes for non-drinkers too. We always offer non-alcoholic pairings because everyone deserves to enjoy the complete experience without being left out.
This isn’t just about the food. It’s about how people feel. And I want you to feel welcome.
